Vandad Yousefi, MD, CCFP, FHM
CEO and co-founder
Vandad has worked as a hospitalist in Ontario, Albert and British Columbia. He is a Fellow of Hospital Medicine with the Society of Hospital Medicine. He has been involved in the development and optimization of hospital medicine programs since 2007, and has published extensively about hospital medicine in Canada. His other interests include quality and safety in healthcare, and has held various leadership roles on local, regional and national levels.
Mark Evans, MD, CCFP
President and co-founder
Mark Evans brings a unique set of skills and experiences to HCS. He attended the University of British Columbia where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Ethics before entering the medical world. Since 2002, Mark has worked as a hospitalist at the Calgary General Hospital – Peter Lougheed Centre and has served on many local, provincial and national committees tasked with optimizing care processes in the ER and inpatient settings.
Ritesh Mistry MD, CCFP
Vice President Education
Ritesh Mistry is currently a hospitalist at William Osler Health Centre in Brampton, Ontario. He is the first graduate of the Sunnybrook Hospitalist Training Program, the first Hospital Medicine fellowship program in Canada based on Society of Hospital Medicine’s Core Competencies. His particular interests include medical Education and Safety & Quality. He has chaired numerous local and national hospital medicine conferences.

Scott Evans PhD, Advisor
Dr. Evans has provided direction and insights for both public and private sector decision-makers for over twenty-five years. He began his career in human services policy research, which he extended into market research and advanced analytics. He has contributed to thought leadership in leading technology advisory services and software companies throughout the United States and in Europe. His background in technology application and customer experience has been instrumental in forging better solutions in a wide range of services and products. Dr. Evans continues to advance the application of new technologies that enhance customer centric strategies and customer focused businesses. His ability for strategic thinking has helped many organizations achieve their growth potential.
Dylan Hardy, Advisor
Dylan works extensively across the health care industry to improve the quality, cost and accessibility of care for patients. He is the founder of Victor Avenue Capital – an investment firm that partners with entrepreneurs in the health care industry to provide the capital and advice required to grow their business. Dylan has served on as a board member and the Chief Operating Officer of Think Research – a leading provider of evidence-based tools that improve care quality, safety and cost at 300+ health care providers in Canada, India and the US. Prior to launching VAC, Dylan was a partner at KPMG, the co-founder of HIO Group, and a consultant with McKinsey & Company. He is an advisory board member at the Richard Ivey School of Business and a frequent speaker on topics of quality, performance improvement, and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Steve Miller MD, FRCPS
Dr. Steve Miller is a Royal College Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with special interests in Hip and Knee Replacement, Arthroscopy, Trauma, and total hip and Knee Revision. Apart from working at our Calgary Surgical Centre, he holds privileges at the Calgary Regional Health Authority Foothills Hospital, Peter Lougheed Centre and Health Resource Centre.
He received his Medical Doctorate (MD) in 1980 and completed his Family Medicine Residency Training Program in 1981 and his Orthopedic Surgery Residency Training Program in 1985 from the University of Calgary. Dr. Miller has extensive experience working with governments and consulting firms and has helped develop many clinical services programs in Canada and internationally.
