Exciting times at HCS!

2013 has been an exciting year for us at HCS! We have continued to support organizations across Canada in their efforts to better understand their inpatient care programs and develop strategies to better deliver high quality patient care. Our experts have continued to research the state of hospital medicine in Canada and publish extensively on the impact of hospitalist programs on the healthcare system. Based on this extensive research, we have developed a unique and ground breaking Hospital Medicine Program Diagnostic tool that is designed to help organizations understand how advanced their programs are, where they need to be, and how they can get there.

Dr. Wachter visits HCS

This November we had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Bob Wachter at our booth during this year’s HealthAchieve conference. As in prior years, HCS participated at HealthAchieve and our experts had the opportunity to meet with hospital CEOs, managers and physicians to discuss ways to improve patient care delivery models. We had the honour of hosting Dr. Wachter at our booth before his highly anticipated and well attended lecture on engaging physicians to improve quality and safety. Dr. Wachter was very interested in learning more about the Canadian hospitalist system and its development, and how HCS has been helping organizations implement hospitalist programs. During his lecture, Dr. Wachter highlighted the importance of physician engagement in enhancing quality of care, and provided the audience with helpful strategies to achieve alignment between organizations and care providers in addressing the pressing challenges confronting healthcare providers.

New and improved website launched!
This November, we launched our new and improved website. We have significantly revamped our website to make it more user friendly and to allow us to provide more resources to our audience. Our new “responsive” site is compatible with mobile devices as well as desktops, and has many added features such as a blog, enhanced resource page, and live twitter feed. We have also added the latest research on Canadian hospitalist model of care to our resource page. By visiting our site, you will have access to the latest developments in this field and our latest services and resources. Stay tuned for announcements about our upcoming educational events in 2014, including our second Acute Care Update conference to be held in Toronto.
